English as a language, not a subject
The following is the vision that DELIGHT holds up as its school policy.

There are 100 Japanese people standing face to face with 100 people from foreign countries. Every single individual is having a decent communication with his or her counterpart. This is different from a general occasion where only representatives of both parties communicate.

Some people are talking in fluent English, some are using gestures, and some are conveying their messages in their mother tongues occasionally using English in between. If one's partner could read kanji's he uses them in writing. There are even pairs who say nothing at all but just smile at each other.

What we see here is a single wish:
"I would like to communicate myself with this person no matter what!"

This wish is what we believe is an essence of communication which lies underneath language learning. Any person who has this wish in his heart can learn how to communicate in English. The curriculum we offer at DELIGHT is designed in accordance with this idea.

All lessons we provide encourage you to communicate in English. A teacher's following comment on a student represents this idea; "What you've just said may be understood. However, there is a possibility it might cause misunderstanding. So why don't you try this...?" We never intimidate you by saying, "NO, that's wrong."

"I would like to communicate with people in English!"
English should be shared by anyone who hopes so. This is because English is a language and is a global language. Any individual who has a will or wish to speak English has a potentiality. This potentiality should never be restricted to a certain group of people with special skills that led them to straight A's in English classes or people with special experiences of living in English speaking countries.

We sincerely welcome anyone with a plea to be one of the hundred people who communicate in English with a beautiful smile on his or her face.
